Demand For School Choice In DC

According to the Friedman Foundation, demand for school choice is strong in DC. The details about the DC program are,

Passed earlier this year, the D.C. school choice plan will eventually provide at least 1,700 students in families earning up to 185 percent of the poverty level with vouchers worth as much as $7,500 to attend private or parochial schools. Priority goes to children attending low-performing schools as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
